The post area is the most dangerous spot on
the floor. We want a third of our passes to
go into the post.

When this happens, we simply clear the area

Here, we want our post player screening for
the weakside post or corner cutting through
the key.

If the defenders fight through the screens,
we dump the ball into the cutter and send
the screener to the weakside elbow.

we have the screener flash back to the ball
while the cutter vacates the area.

An option that is always available to us is the
pick and roll. We only run it when the ball is
in the hands of the perimeter player closest
to the baseline.

If anyone else is below the ballhandler, it's
too easy for the defense to give help.

We want our screener to roll with his
stomach facing the basketball. He should
never lose sight of the ball! He will only be
open for a moment, and should be prepared
to receive the pass.

If the pass comes, he should dirve to the
basket with his head up and look for the
